Education in the 21st century has undergone significant transformation, driven by changes in technology, globalization, and evolving learner expectations. Traditional approaches to teaching, once standardized and instructor-centered, have increasingly given way to methodologies that emphasize engagement, adaptability, and inclusivity. These shifts are not merely trends but reflections of a broader educational paradigm that seeks to prepare students for a dynamic and interconnected world. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of current teaching methodologies employed in modern educational settings. By analyzing pedagogical strategies that have gained traction in recent decades, such as inquiry-based learning, technology-enhanced instruction, and culturally responsive teaching, this research aims to identify which practices best support academic achievement, learner autonomy, and social-emotional development. This review focuses on educational institutions in elementary, high school and higher education levels across global contexts. It recognizes that while teaching strategies may vary by region and educational philosophy, common challenges and opportunities have emerged worldwide. As such, this study not only surveys the current landscape of instructional methods but also considers the implications of these approaches in shaping the future of education.
