Abstract:
COVID-19 has affected students’ learning experiences in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the world. This study aimed to explore students’ perceptions of online learning during the pandemic in a university located in the Sultanate of Oman using a mixed methodology approach (questionnaire and interview). Participants are 240 university students who studied in different specializations: Business, Information Technology, and Engineering. The findings revealed that students moderately rated teaching materials, online assessment, and lecturers during online education. The study also found that the university did not provide students with sufficient support. Students encountered many challenges during online education, such as weak internet connection and not having a good atmosphere at home to attend their online classes. The study concludes with some recommendations for the university to improve students’ experience during online education.
